Sittingbourne names developer

Swale Borough Council has selected its development partner for the £110m regeneration of Sittingbourne town centre in Kent.

The project will be undertaken by the Spirit of Sittingbourne; a collaboration between PPP developer Cathedral Group, property consultant Essential Land and financial fund manager Altyon.

The mixed-use scheme aims to generate £250m of economic improvement over the next ten years and create 1,100 jobs.

Proposals include a new station square and bus and rail station, a cultural quarter and a civic quarter featuring a health centre and existing leisure centre.

There will also be residential and retail developments.
