Al Mackin, co-founder of search engine optimisation specialist theEword, is to swap his managing director's role for the chief executive's hot seat as the company gears up for growth in 2012.
The announcement came as the agency forecast turnover for the year to April 2012 would hit £2.2 million - up 58 per cent on the previous 12 months. In addition, profits are expected to increase by 45 per cent year-on-year.
The increase has been driven by a combination of winning 13 major clients in 2011, including law firms Ralli, Pannone and Gateley, and the growth of existing customers, such as bookies Betfred.com.
In his new role, Mackin (pictured below) will take a strategic approach to business development, helping to identify and support future growth opportunities. He will be replaced as managing director by theEword's current general manager, Daniel Nolan.
"I'm delighted with theEWord's 2011 financial results, which have surpassed our expectations in a challenging economic environment," Mackin commented.
