J K Rowling tops entrepreneurs poll

Harry Potter author JK Rowling is the most inspirational and admired entrepreneurial female role model for young British women, according to a poll by Co-operative Financial Services.

She is followed by fashion designer Stella McCartney and TV's Dragons’ Den star Deborah Meaden in a survey of 14-24-year-olds.

In a rather depressing result glamour model Katie Price and Victoria Beckham came fourth and fifth respectively.

The research also showed that 75 per cent of respondents believe it is more difficult for women to get ahead in business, while over 80 per cent felt they would have to work harder than men to succeed.

It might help if they understood what an entrepreneur actually did.

His weekly, “Thank Frank it’s Friday” email missives, “Frankie Says” blog and Tarantino-inspired advertisements are cases in point.
